Loan Application Process

Yes, if you are a resident of Gibraltar, have a stable financial history, and meet the required income or business profitability criteria, you can apply. You must also have been employed with the same employer for at least 3 years and possess a Gibraltar Residency Card.

You can apply by filling out the online application form on our website. You will need to provide personal and financial details for processing your application. You may also apply in person.

For individuals, you will need:

  • Proof of income (e.g., pay slips, bank statements)

Loan Terms and Repayments

Our interest rates vary based on the type of loan. These rates are clearly outlined in your loan agreement and are competitive and transparent.

Yes, there is a £75 administration fee. Additional fees may apply, including late payment penalties after a 10-day grace period and a termination fee. All fees will be disclosed upfront. Vehicle Leases require a £150.00 Administrative Fee.

Yes, you can repay your loan early with a one-off settlement payment. All future interest will be deducted and a termination fee of 0.5% or 1% will apply.

We do not offer specific incentives for early repayment, but paying off your balance early means you will avoid paying interest for the remaining term of the loan.

Guarantors

A guarantor is someone who agrees to take responsibility for repaying your loan if you are unable to do so.

If you have a low credit score, insufficient income, or are applying for a large loan, you may be required to provide a guarantor. All personal loan applicants need a guarantor.

A guarantor must be a Gibraltar resident, over 18 years old, with a stable financial history. The guarantor must have a good credit history and cannot be your spouse or someone who shares income with you.

If you miss a payment, we may seek payment from your guarantor. This information could be recorded on your credit file, potentially making it more difficult and costly to obtain credit in the future. Legal proceedings may also be initiated.

Vehicle Loans

Yes, most vehicle loans provided by AMC Credit are registered under our name. We hold the title to the vehicle until the loan is fully repaid.

Yes, AMC Credit covers the costs associated with the vehicle purchase, including the initial registration under our name.

Clients are responsible for paying the fees and completing the transfer of ownership into their name once the loan is fully repaid.

No, the vehicle cannot be sold or transferred until the loan is fully repaid. The legal title is held by AMC Credit until the loan is cleared.

If you default, AMC Credit may repossess the vehicle to recover the owed amount. The vehicle remains under our name until the loan is fully repaid.

Yes, you are required to maintain fully comprehensive insurance on the vehicle during the loan term, and AMC Credit will ask for proof of insurance.

Vehicle Loan Deposits

A 10% deposit is required for new vehicle loans.

A 30% deposit is required for second-hand vehicle loans.

No, the deposit must be paid upfront and cannot be financed.

If you cannot pay the deposit, the loan application will not proceed. You may consider alternative financing options or choose a vehicle with a smaller deposit requirement.

No, the deposit is paid directly to the dealership, while AMC Credit handles the financing for the remaining loan amount.

Yes, a higher deposit will reduce the total loan amount, lowering your monthly repayments.

Second-hand vehicles are considered higher-risk, so a higher deposit is required to mitigate this risk.

No, the deposit is separate from the loan amount. For example, if a new vehicle costs £20,000, a £2,000 deposit is required, and the remaining £18,000 is financed through the loan.

Yes, the value of a trade-in vehicle can be used toward the deposit. The dealership will assess the trade-in value, which can be applied toward the required deposit.

General Leasing Questions

Vehicle leasing is a financial arrangement that allows an individual or business to use a vehicle for a specified period without owning it.

To lease a vehicle, you must either be a Gibraltar resident or have your business registered in Gibraltar. Eligibility will be determined after reviewing the necessary documentation.

  1. Selection: You choose a vehicle from the available options.

  2. Contract: You sign a leasing agreement that outlines the duration, mileage limits, and monthly payment terms.

  3. Use: You use the vehicle as your own during the lease term, adhering to the terms of the contract.

Return or Renew: At the end of the lease, you return the vehicle, have the option to purchase it at a pre-agreed price, or start a new lease with a different vehicle.

Financial & Contract Questions

A 10% refundable deposit will be required before you sign your contract and collect the leased vehicle.

3 years lease term is our minimum lease term. Should you wish to extend your lease, we will execute a new lease agreement for a further minimum lease of 3 years.

Early termination of a lease is not permitted, unless it is due to a fault of the vehicle.

A 10% refundable deposit is required, and a £150.00 Admin Fee. Once the lease term has expired, and it is confirmed by the relevant dealership that the lessee is not in breach of the Agreement nor Fair Wear & Tear Policy, the 10% refundable deposit is then refunded to the Lessee.

Vehicle-Related Questions

Customization is not allowed.

The vehicle will be repaired with no cost to the Lessee, as long as the damage falls within our agreement terms and conditions and Fair wear and tear policy. In the meantime, we will provide you with a replacement car of the same standard.

Lease Management Questions

Yes, this is permitted.

At the end of the lease term, you have 3 options: vehicle return, purchase, or renewal.

You have a 15,000-kilometre permitted mileage per year.

The vehicle will be insured under Full Comprehensive insurance for the duration of the lease term.
